Think you’re saving a lot by purchasing contact lenses online? Think again!
Some manufacturers, namely VISTAKON and ALCON have introduced a Unilateral Pricing Policy (UPP) on certain brands of contacts lenses. What does this mean? By having a UPP, it means that all sellers of contacts lenses, from the big box stores to your hometown Optometrist are not allowed to sell contacts lenses below a manufacturer set price. So, the contact lenses that you may think you’re getting a great deal on from the online store, may be the same price that your own Optometrist charges!
On another note, ACCUVUE OASYS will now come in either 12 or 24 lens boxes. This allows for the patient to have more lenses available and less time spent ordering. Six lens boxes will no longer be available! Some vendors may continue to sell 6 lens boxes until October 1, 2014. Family Eye Care Center will be stocking the 12 lens boxes.
Additionally, did you know that you can save further by purchasing a year supply? A year supply of lenses is available with free shipping directly from the manufacturer, just like those online vendors. We are excited for our patients’ opportunity to have the security of purchasing their contact lenses in office at the same price as through on line vendors.
